    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a motivated individual to join our team as the National HSE Manager. Reporting to the CEO, this highly visible leadership role is responsible for managing safety, quality and environment activities nationally. You will be a key voice in our business, providing expert knowledge and advice to ensure our people, clients and environment are safe.

     

    Your responsibilities will include:

    • Lead the HSEQ performance, results & culture and pro-actively identify and establish initiatives to drive continuous improvement;
    • Provide effective subject matter advice and guidance to managers, supervisors and team members to assist with risk management and decision-making activities;
    • Oversee the effective provision of HSE information, instruction and training to our workers;
    • Provide governance over the HSEQ incident management and risk management processes;
    • Effectively represent Workforce externally with stakeholders including regulators, customers, contractors and community groups;
    • Negotiate with regulatory bodies, unions and clients;
    • Oversee the development, implementation, maintenance and internal audit of Safety, Quality and Environmental Management Systems to ensure compliance;
    • Collaborate with the Workforce HSEQ Team to help drive consistency, best practice and continuous improvement;
    • Develop and oversee HSEQ documentation to ensure processes meet legal requirements, internal operating requirements, customer specifications & expectations.

     

    What you will bring to the team

    • Extensive leadership and management skills with a demonstrated ability to negotiate & influence stakeholders
    • Demonstrated HSEQ leadership experience in similar high-risk/heavily industrial environments
    • Experience with negotiating and updating best practice Safety Culture for both internal staff and outside organisers for mutually beneficial outcomes
    • Confidence in delivering a range of incident investigation methodologies.
    • Strong understanding of WHS legislative requirements across all Australian jurisdictions.
    • A willingness to travel to sites and offices across Australia.
    • A can-do attitude and ability to facilitate a resourceful conversation with various senior stakeholders

     
    Experience and Qualifications

    • Recognised occupational health and safety degree
