Boiler Operator

  • 3-week rotating roster (day/afternoon/night)
  • $34.94 per hour including 15% shift loading
  • Long-term Permanent role

Our Client, Structural Concrete Industries is a renowned leading precast concrete provider within Australia for the industrial, commercial and infrastructure sectors. They have delivered their clients the expertise, equipment, resources and technology required to complete even the toughest construction project.

Structural Concrete Industries are a friendly, cheerful and hardworking team and are seeking an organised, methodical and friendly new team member to fill the role of Boiler Operator.

They are excited to be welcoming this new team member, who will have a genuine interest in the construction/manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will possess the following skillset:

   
The successful applicant must have:

  • An understanding of Work, Health, Safety
  • Demonstrated experience in the operation of a gas fired boiler and associated plant.
  • Hold a current intermediate boiler operators’ certificate or Boiler Standard license.
  • Enjoy a challenging environment but also have good problem solving.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Well-developed time management and organisation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in a team environment.  

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in the process of ordering and maintaining stock levels as required.
  • Provide quality technical skills and knowledge to ensure the effective operation of the boiler and associated plant and equipment within relevant regulations and requirements.
  • Interact and coordinate effectively with boiler house team members and other trade disciplines to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of the plant.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in a manner providing the safety of patients, visitors and staff whilst ensuring all access and services are maintained where practical.
  • Participate in the cleaning of the boiler house and associated equipment to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Record accurate data on all paperwork processed including log sheets and datasheets and sign as required
  • Fresh concrete sampling and compressive strength testing of concrete in accordance with NATA standards.
  • Comply with all authorised duties as directed by the Works and Quality Engineer or his delegate.
